This made me laugh

SkyNews

Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has admitted not knowing people speak English in London.

The NFL player might want to check a map before he gets on board a plane for Sunday's prestige game against the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium.

Crowder, who comes from Atlanta in Georgia, may be praised on the field, but confessed geography was not his strong point.

He admitted he did not know until now where London was - or that Londoners spoke English.

"I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries," he said.

"I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that."

Crowder added: "I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him.

"That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."

The Miami Dolphins are play the New York Giants at Wembley this Sunday in the first NFL regular-season game to be played outside the United States.

Billie Swamp Safari

On our last day in Miami we visited Billie Swamp Safari - basically a place where you can travel around the everglades on an airboat. We're getting into the habit of videoing everything now.

They've got some crocs too.

Oh and there's a few snaps here as well: View as slideshow

Houston ahoy!

Those of you that are keeping track of our movements (none of you I'm sure :) ) will know that this weekend saw us up sticks and move to Houston. We're in a hotel at the moment and I thought I'd take a few snaps of the view from our room and stitch them together with this new funky photo editing tool that I've gotten hold of:

That's a view looking westwards but unfortunately I haven't got access to a window looking eastwards and that would be a much cooler panorama because I'd have a view of the downtown skyline. So instead, I'll just steal someone else's picture of that:

The tallest building in that shot is one of the 2 old Enron buildings (I think the other is hid just behind it) but here's better picture of the 2 of them.

Why am I showing you that? Basically cos I might be working in one of them because the company that I'm out here working for leased them both when Enron went belly up.

Big news from over here is that some of our plans have changed of late. We've been having loads of hassles from the people that are renting our house so rather than put up with it any longer we've decided to turf them out. What that means is that in November Helen is going to come home and resume normal life back in blighty. I will remain out here until March (with frequent trips home inbetween) when I shall also be returning home. For good. So, lots to look forward to. Living in a new city for 6 months, returning home for good, and planning for our wedding next September. 2008 is gonna be a very good year.

cheers

Jamie
